Ingredients

  • package (14 ounces) firm tofu, drained
  • tablespoon oil
  • small onion, peeled and sliced thinly
  • bunch (about 2 cups) asparagus, ends trimmed and cut diagonally into 2-inch pieces
  • cup water or liquid from soaking the dried mushrooms
  • cup vegetarian mushroom oyster sauce
  • cup light soy sauce (I use Kikkoman)
  • cup Chinese cooking wine
  • tablespoons sugar
  • tablespoon cornstarch
  • teaspoon pepper
