Ingredients

  • 1 (1/3 kg/3lb) cut up chicken
  • 1 1/2 litre of water (6 cups)
  • 1 medium brown onion, peeled and sliced
  • 3 medium stalks celery with leaves, chopped (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 medium carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  •  
  • For the rivels
  • 140 g plain flour (1 cup)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large free range egg
