Ingredients

  • 2 lbs carp, cleaned and cut into
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 medium red bell pepper
  • 1 medium green bell pepper
  • 1 cup fresh ginger
  • 1 ½ cup carrots
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup distilled white vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp salt (for salting fish)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (to thicken sauce)
  • 2 cups water
